Last year, Kaz Hirai decided to leave Sony as president and remain as chairman. However, today it became known that on June 18 he would finally leave the company, where he worked for about 35 years. However, the former head will still occasionally act as a senior adviser.

After the transfer of the relay, Yoshide, who became CEO last April, I, as Sony chairman, had the opportunity to ensure a smooth transition and support from the company's management. I am confident that Sony has a bright future under the command of Yoshida. Therefore, I decided to leave the corporation that has been part of my life for the past 35 years. I would like to express my sincere thanks to all our staff and stakeholders who supported me throughout the trip.

The company is now managed by Kenichiro Yoshida. A little earlier, Sony has appointed a new PlayStation CEO – Jim Ryan. He led the gaming unit instead of John Codera. And he, in turn, took over the post of vice president.
