Eddy Osmani, head of Google Chrome development (Addy Osmani), said that the future browser update will add the maximum traffic saving feature.

The update will teach Google Chrome delayed download. In this case, the browser will not load all the elements of the open web page at once, but only those that the user sees on the screen. New pictures and other design elements of the page are loaded along with its scrolling.

In the example of Eddie Osmani, instead of 10 MB of loaded data, during normal operation in “lazy” mode, the browser loads only 250 KB (!) Of data. That is, such a “lazy download” allows you to save up to 98% of traffic, if the user has a tariff for the amount of traffic. But even if it is unlimited, the new technology of deferred loading allows you to launch any page as quickly as possible and without brakes.

The new super-browser will get Chrome 75 with the May update. Delayed download will be installed not only in the mobile version of Google Chrome for Android and iOS, but also in the desktop version for Windows, Mac, Linux and Chrome OS. The update can already be tested in Chrome Canary.
